What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Lead-Second Shift position at Major Metals Company?
Description
- Responsible for managing the Warehouse and truck loading as directed, including giving direction to, and the training of other material handlers
- Lead and assist second shift truck loaders.
- Ensure each load is scanned, double-checked for accuracy and pictures taken of load.
- Must be trained and licensed at Major Metals Company as a lift truck driver.
- Assure that all products are handled with caution to ensure products are damage free and efficiently moved to assure mill does not shut down.
- Responsible for maintaining order in Warehouse for customer shipments to be accurate and timely.
- Keep all material together with matching work order.
- Inspect and record on shipping inspection for quality as the last set of eyes before customer receiving the product.
- Ensure all tubes are de-dimpled.
- Assure tag matches material to be moved and all tags are properly attached.
- Load truck without denting the material/product.
- Ensure load is properly strapped and tarped before giving the driver the bill of lading.
- Must be willing to become certified as a Major Metals Company forklift operator.
- Shift hours are 4:15 p.m.-2:45 a.m. Monday-Friday.
- $1.50 shift differential applied to base hourly rate for second shift hours worked.
Requirements
- One year of leadership experience required.
- Two years of experience operating a forklift required.
- One year of loading trucks with a forklift required.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be willing to work a weekly schedule of 50 hours.
