What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift position at Major Wire?
The Quality inspector is responsible for maintaining quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, recording quality results.
Responsibilities (but not limited to)
- Provide continuous spot-checks in all working areas to identify any possible non-conformities.
- Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming raw materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
- Read plans and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
- Measure product dimensions examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
- Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
- Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
- Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
- Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
- Communicate results of raw material inspections with responsible departments.
- Write and compute internal NCR’s.
- Investigate open NCR’s with departments involved (Raw material, Production, Maintenance, Training, etc.)
- Generate and implements corrective actions.
- Share corrective actions with departments involved.
- Follow-up on the implementation of corrective actions.
- Give quality and operational trainings.
- Follow-up on implementation of new procedures.
- Identify and follow-up on quarantined/tagged material.
- Always demonstrate a positive and professional attitude.
- Able to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends
- Communicate professionally and effectively to all members of the team and Management.
