JOB TITLE: Finishing Operator -MUST BE FLEXIBLE TO BOTH 1st and 2nd Shift
DEPARTMENT: Finishing
Job Summary:
The Finishing Operator is a valuable part of our production team, ensuring our production quotas are met in a timely fashion while observing the highest standards of safety and quality. You will need to be reliable and punctual, able to perform physical tasks that are repetitive, and lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Job Duties:
· Establish and operate sheet metal equipment under minimal supervision to fabricate as well as form prodcuts per written procedures
· Maintain and manage machine as well as tooling and area cleanliness, reporting any machine issues to Management
· Perform simple math to ensure screens are within Major Wire’s tolerances and specifications
· Cut screen cloth to customer specifications
· Hook screen ends to customer specifications
· Stack completed screens for shipping and receiving
· Check specifications to verify that quality is to customer standards (internal quality control)
· Ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently
· Make every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising quality or safety
· Complete packaging tasks such as box assembly, packing, and taping
· Work cooperatively with the production team to meet quotas and goals
· Observe all safety guidelines and report safety concerns to management
· Follow all written and verbal instructions
· Attend all safety and production trainings
· Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude
· Able to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends
Essential Skills
· Possesses physical dexterity necessary to assemble small and delicate product parts
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Exhibits ability to work cautiously but efficiently in potentially hazardous conditions
· Ability to use and read a tape measure, and calipers.
· Possesses physical strength and stamina required to stand, walk, and lift for long periods of time.
· Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
Experience:
· High School diploma or GED is required
· Experience in manufacturing environment
· Experience with press brake machine preferred
· 2yrs experience working with metals
First shift- M-F 6am-2:30pm
Second Shift- M-T 2:30pm-1am
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $22.45 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
