SUMMARY 

As the Assistant General Manager, you will be entrusted with overseeing the Front Desk, Retail, Transportation, Concierge, Ranch Ambassadors and the Housekeeping departments, and work alongside the Ranch Manager, Director of Food & Beverage, and the Director of Human Resources to ensure optimal guest and employee satisfaction. This executive-level position demands a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a refined understanding of luxury hospitality. You will be responsible for maintaining the Ranch’s high standards of service, fostering a culture of belonging and appreciation within your team, and empowering department heads to lead with care, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Your leadership will inspire a culture of kindness, where every employee feels valued and motivated to deliver exceptional service, while continuously striving for perfection in every detail. 

The ideal candidate for this role is an experienced hospitality professional with a proven track record of managing multiple departments and teams to achieve both operational and service excellence. You lead with empathy and clarity, and you understand the critical importance of cultivating a positive and inclusive work environment. Your leadership style is proactive and hands-on, ensuring that each department under your guidance operates seamlessly, providing the highest level of service to every guest. A passion for training, development, and continuous improvement will be key in this role, as you will inspire your team to excel in hospitality, ensuring that every guest experience is exceptional and memorable. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the Retail, Transportation, Front Desk, and Housekeeping departments to ensure each department meets the highest standards of service, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
  • Lead and mentor department heads, empowering them to create a positive work environment and a culture of belonging, appreciation, and kindness, while encouraging excellence in hospitality.
  • Drive operational excellence by setting clear goals, implementing best practices, and ensuring all departments collaborate seamlessly to provide an extraordinary guest experience.
  • Conduct routine walk-throughs of guest cabins and common areas to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness, maintenance, and presentation are consistently met.
  • Assist in budget management and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve profitability and ensure the Ranch’s high standards are maintained.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professionalism by encouraging your team to identify opportunities for innovation and ensuring that guest needs are consistently met and exceeded.
  • Maintain strong communication with the Director of Hospitality & Asset Management to ensure alignment on goals, expectations, and growth initiatives.
  • Be a visible and active presence across all departments, regularly engaging with guests and staff to ensure the highest levels of service and satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory standards, creating a safe and welcoming environment for both staff and guests.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • At least 7-10 years of senior-level hospitality management experience, ideally within luxury resorts, high-end guest ranches, or historic properties.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple departments and leading teams to achieve operational goals and deliver exceptional guest experiences.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, P&L management, and performance analysis.
  • Expertise in fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment, with experience in coaching, mentoring, and developing department heads.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with both guests and staff in a genuine and meaningful way.
  • A deep understanding of luxury hospitality standards and guest service excellence, with a proactive and creative approach to meeting and exceeding guest expectations.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment while maintaining a calm, positive demeanor and high level of service.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record; ability to drive in challenging conditions, including snow and ice.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Frequent walking and standing across the property, with regular interaction with both guests and employees.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for tasks such as assisting with guest needs or property maintenance.
  • Ability to work in outdoor conditions, including varying weather conditions such as snow, rain, and extreme temperatures.
  • This position requires frequent evening and weekend work to ensure optimal operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Based primarily on-site, you will be a visible leader, interacting regularly with guests and employees across all departments.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach is needed to manage changing seasonal demands and fluctuating guest needs.
