Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Plumbing Engineer to join our team, assisting in the preparation of plumbing system construction documents for healthcare, higher education, and commercial building projects. The Plumbing Engineer will collaborate with project teams throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring plumbing plans align with budget constraints, design requirements, and client needs.
This role includes staying up-to-date with industry trends, attending professional development events, and fostering connections with local industry professionals.
Responsibilities
Perform technical design and quality control on assigned projects, including plumbing system calculations and layouts.Coordinate designs with other disciplines to ensure seamless integration.Maintain best practices in engineering methods and ensure compliance with current plumbing and energy codes.Produce construction documents for new builds, renovations, and facility additions.Conduct construction administration, including site visits and shop drawing reviews.Explore and implement cost-efficiency improvements in plumbing designs.Develop and review project specifications.Update and correct drawings based on quality assurance feedback.Assist the director in maintaining quality assurance standards.Education and Experience :
Education : Bachelor's Degree in Architectural or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.Experience :3-5 years in the engineering field with expertise in plumbing systems.
Experience with medical gas systems (preferred).Related experience in healthcare, higher education, or commercial building system design.Knowledge of current plumbing and energy codes.Project management experience is a plus but not required.Certifications and Licenses :
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam required.A professional engineering (PE) license is preferred but not required.Valid driver's license and willingness to use an insured personal vehicle for work-related travel.Skills and Qualifications :
Proficiency in Microsoft Office , AutoCAD , and Revit .Strong verbal and written communication skills.Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.Effective time management and multitasking abilities to meet project deadlines.Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country where the position is located without the need for sponsorship.
Salary : $80,000 - $120,000
