SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
As a Beach & Pool Attendant, you will facilitate exceptional experiences and memories for members, guests, and prospects during their visits. You will ensure safety in the beach and pool areas while delivering quality service by sharing aloha and knowledge about the available water activities. You will inform members and their guests about safety on the beach and in the pool and monitor guest areas to ensure safe conditions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Greet and acknowledge guests upon arrival at the beach and pool deck.
- Set up beach and pool club.
- Provide service to members and guests at the beach and pool including providing towels, ice water, and snack items.
- Provide members and guests with information about the Club, Events, Attractions, General information of the Island, and water activities. Assist with questions or requests.
- Provide safety and information for the beach and pool area. Reports all incidents/accidents to Security and the Manager on Duty.
- Offer snorkels, standup paddles, and other Outdoor Pursuits (OP) equipment to members and guests. Set up lounge and recreational equipment for members and guests.
- Assist in transporting members and guests within the club as needed, either dispatching or using shuttle carts. Follow safety procedures and club policies while driving shuttle and golf carts and ensure carts are ready and fit for use.
- Ensure that only members and member's guests are within the club boundaries and using the OP equipment and pool amenities.
- Maintain clean and orderly beach and pool area including cleaning of furniture, equipment, umbrellas, and cabanas.
- Assist in cleaning and busing trash, debris, and food and beverage items from lounge, cabana, beach, pool deck, and surrounding areas.
- Prepare beach and pool area for members and guests' arrival as scheduled. Prepare pre-reserved Cabanas as scheduled. Restock and prep amenities, towels, covers.
- Close beach and pool area as scheduled.
- Pick up, restock towels, and deliver soiled towels for laundry service. Minimize loss of towels.
- Complete other beach and pool area tasks as assigned by leadership.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:
One year of guest service experience preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:
CPR, First Aid certification preferred.
DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Requires oral and written communication with supervisor, co-workers, guests and others. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Basic math skills.
- Work cooperatively with employees across departments. Must maintain a positive and professional manner.
- Ability to remain calm and focused during the busiest of times.
- Respect for and appreciation of Hawaiian values, history and culture, understanding its implication in one's work, in fostering meaningful relationships, and in embracing the community served.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight to ten hours in length.
- Knowledgeable about the places, activities, and history of the island and Hawai'i. Proficient in swimming.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to; working indoors and outdoors, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling.
EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer (Point of Sale, POS), water activities equipment including surfboard, stand-up paddleboard, canoe, and kayak.
