Content Creator

MakerStock is a six-year old company that was established in Old Forge, PA. We supply pre-cut materials such as plywood and acrylic to designers, fabricators, and artisans. Our customers also include shops and labs at schools and universities.

We are looking for an individual to create product images and video content for our social media platforms.

Using our materials and tools – and tapping into your own passion for the craft – you’ll produce engaging, educational, and visually compelling content for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and beyond. Whether it’s building a small project, highlighting our custom-cut abilities, or demonstrating how to finish a piece of Baltic birch just right, your content will help inspire and grow our creative community.

Successful candidates will have these characteristics:

• Genuinely passionate about making things, especially woodworking, DIY, fabrication, and hands-on creativity.
• Experience with video editing and content creation.
• Experience with Photoshop, or other photo editing software.
• Strong visual storytelling.
• Ability to work with a variety of media formats and optimize content for different platforms.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices for video.
• Creative mindset with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Greet and assist customers with product questions, inquiries, returns, and purchases.
• Maintain a clean, organized and welcoming retail space. Ensure displays are representative of our materials and visually appealing.
• Able to convey professionalism and courteousness at all times.
• Demonstrated track record of reliability. At MakerStock, we do what we say we do and show up when we say we will.
• Comfortable in a warehouse environment with limited structure.

We are somewhat flexible about work hours but you will be required to be at our Salt Lake City warehouse during the afternoons, Monday through Friday. Content creation can be done in the mornings, evenings, or weekends, depending on your preferred schedule.

This is a 40-hour per week full-time hourly position, and you will be a W-2 employee of MakerStock. Eligibility for 401k, QSEHRA, and PPE stipend will take effect after 3 months of employment. Profit sharing eligibility after one year of employment.

You will report to our Sales & Marketing Director, located in Pennsylvania.
