Join Making A Difference Foundation as the Youth Farming Program Coordinator, a vital role dedicated to empowering young people through agriculture and entrepreneurship. This position involves creating a supportive environment where youth can develop essential skills in sustainable farming and agricultural business practices.

 

As the Youth Farming Program Coordinator, you will manage all aspects of the program, from outreach and recruitment to hands-on training and mentoring. You will collaborate with local farmers to provide participants with practical experience and knowledge while fostering leadership qualities and a strong sense of community among youth.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the Youth Farming Program, ensuring alignment with the foundation's mission and objectives.
  • Develop and implement training sessions focused on sustainable farming techniques, business planning, and entrepreneurship.
  • Build relationships with community farmers and agricultural experts to facilitate workshops and mentorship opportunities.
  • Recruit and engage youth participants, providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the program.
  • Monitor participant progress and program performance, collecting data to evaluate effectiveness and impact.
  • Engage with community partners and stakeholders to enhance program resources and visibility.
  • Support grant writing and fundraising efforts to secure resources for program sustainability.
  • Organize events and activities that showcase youth achievements and promote community awareness.

  • Bachelor's degree in agriculture, education, nonprofit management, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in program coordination or community outreach, preferably in a youth or agricultural context.
  • Strong understanding of sustainable farming practices and agricultural business principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse groups of youth, farmers, and community partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in volunteer management and team leadership is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social equity and community empowerment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with program management software.
