Job Summary: Under the leadership of the Inventory Control / Inbound Supervisor, the primary function of the Warehouse Lead is to perform a wide range of duties and responsibilities to assist the Supervisors in completion of their daily tasks. In addition, all responsibilities are to be carried out safely and with the goal of providing customer satisfaction to our internal and external customers in a manner that is consistent with Makita Values and Leadership Behaviors.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to receive shipment into WMS.
- Ensures proper documentation for all receipts.
- Instructs drivers where to wait for trailer while unloading.
- Ensures proper receiving techniques are followed.
- Responsible for daily warehouse inspections to ensure proper put away of received items and inspects the integrity of product in storage locations.
- Prioritize shipments to ensure timely receipt and put away of critical items.
- Focus on inbound returns processes
- Responsible for damaged inventory, repack operations
- Responsible for inventory consolidation and replenishment
- Manages MCA rework project support.
- Fills in wherever needed during vacation or absence.
- Performs all duties with the ultimate objective of customer satisfaction.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education, Skills and/or Experience Needed:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Must possess ability to direct others.
- Must be able to safely operate MHE including forklift truck.
- Previous warehouse equipment experience desirable.
- 3- 5 years desired experience in a distribution center environment or related experience in production control.
- Experience in WMS and Red Prairie software a must.
- Ability to manage time to complete the assigned work.
- Ability to research and correct any issues that may occur.
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
Language Skills:
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in verbal and/or written communications with subordinates superiors and customers.
- Ability to communicate through email.
Physical Demands:
- May be subjected to working overtime, weekends or irregular hours.
- Requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop or reach for extended time.
- Requires the ability to lift, push, pull, items up to 65 lbs.
- Ability to work in an environment that is sometimes hot or cold and subject to loud noises, hazardous materials, chemicals, etc.
- May occasionally be required to lift, push and or pull items up to 80 lbs.
