Duties
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling with precision and care.
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing while adhering to strict aseptic techniques.
- Process specimens according to established laboratory procedures, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Monitor and record vital signs of patients prior to and following blood collection.
- Provide exceptional patient service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure efficient workflow within the laboratory setting.
- Document all procedures accurately in patient records.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in phlebotomy or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and specimen collection processing.
- Proficient in aseptic technique and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and service.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant medical training is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
