Position Overview:
MalaceHR is seeking a Grounds Manager who will oversee the maintenance, management, and improvement of recreational sports fields and common grounds on campus. This role includes developing and executing budgets, procurement, and field management activities, with an emphasis on proactive problem-solving. Additionally, the Grounds Manager will provide professional consultation and leadership in athletic field and grounds renovation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement schedules for managing athletic fields, including cultural management plans, field setups, striping, and post-event repairs.
- Manage the procurement of materials needed for an effective management program, working with approved vendors and in line with protocol.
- Oversee field setup and breakdown for events.
- Assist in the development and execution of emergency response plans due to inclement weather or other natural disasters.
- Implement and uphold Standard Operating Procedures, quality assurance plans, and safety protocols.
- Create and deliver training for regulatory compliance, safety, and technical skills, documenting all training processes.
- Maintain meticulous records of pest management and pesticide application procedures.
- Conduct light maintenance and repairs on field equipment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience managing high-profile athletic fields.
- A two-year degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create reports and speak publicly.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or other compatible programs.
- Ability to promote and manage awareness of the field management program.
- Must have, or be able to obtain within six months of hire, a pesticide license in the following categories: core, turf, and ornamentals.
