JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this position is to assist in the development of procedures and operational guidance within the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) program for a world class manufacturing and automated engineering operation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides support for monitoring injury, illness, and incident related performance. Supports the development and implementation of strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required.
- Provides health, safety and environmental regulatory compliance support and reports findings, concerns, and deficiencies. Responds to client/customer/member concerns regarding HSE matters and will have the support of the leadership teams to utilize stop work authority in alignment with requirements of identifying unsafe acts or conditions that require hazard controls before proceeding.
- Supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Client Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and client policies and procedures.
- May act as a HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) subject matter resource for the facility, and other duties as assigned within the scope agreed to by CBRE HSE management and the client leadership team.
- Take proactive measures to identify potential safety hazards and environmental risks associated with robotics manufacturing and R&D activities, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation strategies to ensure a safe working environment.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors' degree in safety, environmental, health, and safety (EHS) required.
- Minimum of 5 years of years of relevant experience OR Master's Degree or equivalent in internships, senior projects, or capstone in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, robotics) or EHS related subjects (i.e. water chemistry, environmental science, etc.).
- Fundamental knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety and environmental regulations is essential is preferred.
- Experience working in manufacturing, robotics, high technology manufacturing processes, and facility maintenance and management is preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing HSE programs and initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams and driving results in improving HSE performance metrics.
ADDITTIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Good computer skills in usage of MS Office Suite
- Having professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, or CHMM are a plus
- Good documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills such as, but not limited to, relationship management, negotiating, and dealing with difficult personalities.
- Focused field of work in strictly EPA, OSHA, local and federal regulations, or industry standards for EHS
- Solid problem solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
- Experience with initiating and completing risk assessments
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and to build productive internal/external working relationships. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety procedures and guidelines to diverse audiences
- Strong understanding of general safety principles and regulations applicable to manufacturing and R&D environments.
- Proficiency in incident investigation techniques and corrective action implementation.
