What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instrumentation Technician position at Malace HR?
As an Instrumentation Technician at MalaceHR, you will be responsible for the calibration, installation, troubleshooting, and documentation of instruments and equipment used in manufacturing, utility plants, and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) production facilities. Your work will ensure minimal impact to production while adhering to all Regulatory and Company regulations. You will work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment and play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and accuracy of the equipment that supports our operations.
What is the Day to Day?
- Perform calibrations on process equipment, utility equipment, and laboratory analytical equipment.
- Coordinate with Planning/Scheduling to maintain adequate inventory levels for equipment and systems.
- Complete and maintain all calibration paperwork, instrument files, and work order documentation in real-time.
- Ensure compliance with CFRs, GMPs, SOPs, and JLL policies in all work performed.
- Complete all required training within set deadlines.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and processes.
- Maintain an ongoing, open dialogue with the area supervisor regarding performance.
- Notify the supervisor of any training requirements or factors that may affect your ability to perform assigned tasks.
- Assist with troubleshooting efforts as needed to address equipment issues.
- Adhere to planning and scheduling requirements to ensure timely completion of work.
Desired Experience and Technical Skills
Required:
- 3 years of experience in Instrumentation/Calibration-related work.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly in both verbal and written forms, particularly with GMP documentation.
- Proficiency with computer-based control systems.
- Capability to read and understand technical materials, including operating manuals and engineering drawings.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
Preferred:
- 5 years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician or completion of a Trade/Technical School program in the Instrumentation field.
- Experience in a cGMP environment, with established procedures for calibration and maintenance of utility, process, and laboratory equipment.
- Familiarity with CMMS Maximo for maintenance management.
