Job Description
This position will be a plumber/pipefitter job responsibilities. Requiring a journeyman card. Perform skilled piping maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of Pipe systems valves and controls, piping systems of water, steam, chilled water, and process fluids. Perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of maintenance related equipment and facilities; perform preventative maintenance and routine servicing of buildings and equipment.
Job Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, modify and install piping, pipe welding valves, system and process control components.
- Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout and troubleshooting for piping systems, piping controls and related components
- Locate and mark positions for connections, equipment, and system components
- Install supports and hangers for pipe, components and equipment, valves and fittings
- Install, repair and maintain HVAC, piping and process controls, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners
- Perform scheduled maintenance service on piping systems and control valves
- Apply all codes to installations, repairs and maintenance
- Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded
- Inspect, repair, modify and install Mechanical equipment including conveyors, doors, fans, pumps, machinery, levelers, hydraulic equipment, mechanical equipment, etc.
- Install, align, take apart and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks and tractors, to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation by using hand and power tools and welding equipment
