We are seeking a bilingual individual (fluent in both English and Creole) to join our team as a Regional Custodial Trainer. This role is ideal for someone with experience in custodial services and a passion for teaching and mentoring others. The successful candidate will be responsible for training and providing ongoing support to custodial teams across multiple sites within close proximity to Upper Darby, PA. The trainer will ensure that all custodial staff are properly equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and techniques to maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for the facilities they serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hands-on training sessions for custodial staff at various sites within the Upper Darby area.
- Develop and update training materials, guides, and procedures in both English and Creole.
- Train new hires and provide ongoing education to existing custodial staff on best practices, cleaning protocols, safety standards, and equipment usage.
- Observe and assess staff performance, providing constructive feedback and recommending areas for improvement.
- Ensure that custodial staff are adhering to company standards and health and safety regulations.
- Assist in resolving any operational or staffing issues related to custodial duties at assigned sites.
- Travel to nearby facilities to offer on-site training, support, and supervision as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between management and custodial teams, ensuring clear communication and understanding of expectations.
- Provide language support and assistance to team members who are more comfortable speaking Creole.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual in English and Creole (both spoken and written) is a must.
- Previous experience in custodial services or facility management.
- Prior training or teaching experience is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain concepts clearly in both languages.
- Ability to travel to different sites within the Upper Darby area (own transportation required).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and proactive approach to training challenges.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, as the position may require light physical tasks related to custodial work.
