About the position
Reporting to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Giving, the Corporate and Foundation Relations Officer is responsible for developing and managing relationships with corporate partners and foundations to secure philanthropic support for Malala Fund. This position plays a key role in identifying funding opportunities, cultivating partnerships, and stewarding donors to advance our mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate and foundation fundraising, exceptional communication and writing skills, and the ability to align organizational priorities with funder interests.
Location: Washington D.C Hybrid or New York Remote
Responsibilities:
Pipeline Development & Management
- Supports the Corporate and Foundation Giving Director to implement a comprehensive strategy for corporate and foundation fundraising to meet annual revenue goals and support organizational priorities.
- Identify and build relationships with new corporate and foundation prospects to grow the foundation portfolio, utilizing targeted outreach and engagement strategies.
- Supports the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with corporate and foundation partners through personalized outreach, meetings, presentations, site visits, etc. to advance relationships to maximise revenue.
- Manage employee engagement and matching gifts programs for current corporate partners, including the design and execution of innovative new opportunities to engage corporate employees in the mission of Malala Fund.
- Monitor trends in philanthropy to identify emerging opportunities and adjust strategies to maintain alignment with organizational goals.
Communications, Proposal Development & Grant Writing
- In partnership with fellow Development Officer, co-manage all aspects of the grant process, from identifying opportunities to drafting, submitting, and tracking grant proposals and reports.
- Build and maintain a library of grant templates for key initiatives. Collaborate inter-departmentally to ensure consistency and alignment.
- Co-facilitate the creation of proposals, pitch decks, campaigns and other creative content in partnership with Malala Fund grant and external affairs staff.
Research & Reporting
- Meticulously manages and tracks six figure grants, including their program restrictions, disbursements and reporting obligations.
- Manages a donor reporting and deliverables calendar to ensure all requirements are met by the appropriate deadlines.
- Supports prospect research.
- Prepare presentations for Malala Fund leadership summarizing progress toward corporate and foundation giving goals.
- Ensure that partner information is correctly tracked in the Salesforce database.

Qualifications
Essential
- 5 years experience in developing and managing relationships with corporate partners and foundations to secure philanthropic support
- Demonstrated experience in donor engagement, fundraising, and stewardship specifically with corporate and foundation partners
- Strong oral and writing skills, with the ability to condense information into easily digestible yet compelling content for different target audiences
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to maintain and deepen strong working relationships with partners
- Strong organizational and project management skills with acute attention to detail
- Excellent team player with ability to work independently and in collaboration with colleagues at all levels across departments and external stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Experience with proposal development processes and typical proposal terminology
- Experience in the non-profit space, ideally related to education
- Strong commitment to Malala Fund’s mission, purpose and values

- Strong commitment to professional development and continued learning

Salary : $90,000 - $101,600
