The Operational Excellence Specialist works closely with various departments to create and improve standardized processes for the manufacturing lines. This role is instrumental in defining Malarkey processes and ensuring standard operating procedures are developed, trained, and maintained. This position will deploy basic statistical, Six Sigma, and Lean techniques to monitor key processes and lead continuous improvement activities to reduce variation and streamline routine processes.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience: A bachelor's degree in operations management, engineering, business, or a related field or equivalent industry work experience is preferred. Five years of experience mastering manufacturing processes, preferably in continuous manufacturing operations, are required.
Technical writing skills to support all business functions by developing and implementing documented procedures for our workflows to best support operational efficiency, continued growth, and success as an organization. At least two years of experience writing documentation and a proven ability to acquire subject matter expertise on manufacturing processes quickly are preferred. Basic statistical analysis skills are required; we strongly prefer a candidate with a Six Sigma Green Belt and experience in Lean.
Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization. Must have strong teamwork skills, work ethic, and the ability to work independently or in a group with minimal supervision and the ability to deal with changing priorities and multiple assignments.
Must excel in a deadline-oriented environment and demonstrate high competence in organizing and prioritizing multiple work assignments. Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels. Demonstrated ability to work independently within interpretive guidelines, take the initiative, and perform effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment; effective oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills and influence; creative problem solving; great team player; working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite.
Proficiency in writing and speaking in multiple languages is a plus.
