What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Malco?

The Material Handler will be accountable to:
Duties Performed
- Identify and replenish product locators before they run empty. Empty compactor and scrap bins. Consolidate pallets.
- Stock raw components when jobs are completed by internal customers. Ensure acceptable quality and accurate quantity. Enter inventory into production software.
- Cycle count inventory and enter corrections to inventory into manufacturing software. Assist assembly department when counts are off. Verify accurate count on all inventory passing through the department and before filling pick locations. Calibrate scales and weigh product to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Put away finished good inventory when jobs are completed. Ensure product is of acceptable quality. Verify that quantity is accurate. Enter inventory into production software.
- Provide forklift coverage to internal and external customers. Load and unload trailers, pallet racking, carts, balconies, and replenish stocking locators whenever needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
- Basic knowledge of all tools and equipment used in department.
- Basic knowledge of PC, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to prioritize work and move from one job to the next effectively.
- Intermediate knowledge of problem solving including common sense understanding of information and ability to use root cause analysis skills.
- Basic math and reading skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of manufacturing software.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Intermediate knowledge of inspection procedures and blueprint reading.
- Basic knowledge all safety procedures.
- Basic knowledge of all department policies and procedures.
- Ability to effectively operate pallet jacks.
Formal Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Must get and maintain a forklift license.
- Three months related experience
Physical Requirements of Position
- Frequently Sit for forklift operation
- Frequently stand/walk on hard surface.
- Continuously lift up to 24 lbs./frequently lift up to 50 lbs./occasionally lift up to 60 lbs.
- Frequently carry up to 50 lbs./occasionally carry up to 60 lbs.
- Frequently push/pull up to 60 lbs.
- Requires repetitive movement of feet for forklift pedals and hands for grasping, manipulation, and pushing buttons.
Wage
- $18.87 - 24.76, dependent on experience
