High School - Program Coordinator
(1 Position Total)
Qualifications (Required):
- Valid Massachusetts Teacher Certification.
- Successful teaching and/or administrative experience.
- Ability to plan and supervise the implementation of Special Education Extended School Year
- Relate/communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.
- Coordinator must commit to being present for each day of the program. See dates below for more info.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Previous experience leading summer or after school programs.
- Experience working in the Malden Public Schools.
- ESL Licensed or SEI Endorsement.
- License in Moderate disabilities in Special Education.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate referral process and coordinate registration/scheduling of students including all communications with Program Managers, Team Chairs, teachers, and parents.
- Coordinate with Program Managers for In-Service Day, (July 1).
- Support Special Education Office in ordering/processing materials.
- Coordinate implementation of instruction during the program.
- Meet with program managers to develop and plan for summer instruction.
- Maintain student attendance records.
- Coordinate with the Special Education Office to maintain payroll records of teachers.
- Work with the transportation coordinator to maintain documents of students needing special transportation.
Duration:
- Program Administration and Implementation 103 hours total to include the following:
- Professional In-service Day (July 1) (3 hours).
- 20 days, Monday-Thursday, from July 7– August 7 (7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.).
- Programming Work Pre-ESY 60 hours
Salary: $37 an hour, $6,031 total (20 days/5 hrs 1 inservice at 3 hours, 60 hours Pre-Programming Work)
