Maintenance Technician
Maley & Wertz, Inc., a leading hardwood lumber manufacturer, is currently seeking a 1st shift Maintenance Technician for its manufacturing facility in Evansville, IN. Qualified candidates will have previous experience with installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial equipment.
Maintenance Technician Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience with a demonstrated work history of accomplishments and increasing responsibility.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Welding experience a plus
- Must be teamwork oriented & have excellent leadership skills.
Duties will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts, dust collection and lumber handling equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment when failures occur.
- Work with machine operators and supervisors to identify problems and create solutions.
- Communicate daily to upper management.
- Assign and train daily maintenance tasks to individuals working within their work area.
- Assist and train production employees on proper use and operation of equipment.
- Identify areas for improvement to production machines and implement recommendations.
- Ensure production equipment up time.
- Understand and adhere to all safety guidelines and practices.
- Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Organize and maintain parts inventory.
- Schedule PMs and document all work performed.
- Have a professional, can-do mentality.
- Must be able to work outside of production hours when needed.
- Any other responsibilities the manager may assign.
