Summary:
The Data and Market Intelligence Analyst uses analytical and quantitative methods to understand, predict, and enhance supply chain opportunities while proactively identifying and proposing mitigation of real or potential risk for Malibu Boats, Inc. This position, in association with colleagues and internal customers, will communicate results and make recommendations for mitigation and/or improvement. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Gathers, mines, tracks, interprets, analyzes and processes relevant data (costs, commonality, productivity, demand patterns, market, industry, forecasts, indices, trends, etc.) from a number of sources (internal and external)
- Communicates findings and recommendations by creating reports, papers and presentations
- Supports category managers and other areas of the business to ensure that procurement category strategies and supplier plans reflect the latest market information, trends, risks, and strategic direction
- Builds and manages data and analytics tools to support strategic decisions for procurement
- Proficiently able to interact with multiple Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to mine data, interact with suppliers, etc.
- Identifies competitive cost benchmarks for categories and specific items
- Ensures a consistent approach is used. Where required, offers project management advice to ensure the successful implementation of strategy and road map ideas
- Regularly monitors and challenges the forward looking strategy. Uses this feedback to improve and enhance the global procurement strategy, supplier relationship plans, and category strategy frameworks
- Supports category managers by providing a fact based approach for strategy and supplier planning topics
- Provides inputs for development of strategic supplier plans for continuous improvement initiatives
- Identifies synergies amongst business units
- Monitors and reports on data relating to execution of strategies at both corporate and business unit levels
- Provides analytical support and assists in the development of strategies for a variety of supply chain projects, improvements, constraint options, issues, concerns and activities
- Assists in analysis of data relating to strategic source selection activities
- Assists individual business units with data analysis when required
- Maintains competencies in ERP system reporting and data mining activities
- Ensures and promotes co-operation and communication between internal stakeholders, across participating entities
- Able to identify areas of risk within a specific supply chain or commodity group and is able to develop or recommend approaches to mitigate such risk
- Utilizes project tracking tools to ensure timely project execution
- Works as a member of a cross functional team
- Documents performance to action plans and timelines for assigned sourcing projects
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Understanding of supply chain principles, processes, tools and practices.
- Understanding of business operations and financial impacts through the supply chain
- Understanding of ERP/MRP and Inventory Control principles and concepts.
- Ability to learn, utilize and master pertinent modules of multiple ERP systems.
- Very strong quantitative and analytical skills relating to cost analysis and management.
- Strong skills related to forward looking strategic deployment.
- Strong skills related to supplier relationship management approaches and impacts.
- Excellent market / industry information analysis skills and knowledge of supply market.
- Ability to work with and lead individuals and teams at all organizational levels.

- Ability to make calculations such as discounts, freight estimates, dimensional weight, invoices, and percentages.
- Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
- Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent from a four-year college or university in business, supply chain or related field preferred; or five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced or Master training and experience in data analysis tools including, but not limited to, MSExcel.
- Supply chain focused analysis experience within a fast paced within a fast paced, engineering driven manufacturing environment required.
- Strong communications skills in a variety of mediums.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents, reports, data, procedures, or governmental regulations in English.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, electronic mail, work instructions and procedures, as examples, in English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, suppliers, internal customers and other employees of the organization.

- Typical 8 to 10 hour work days (depending upon weekly schedule).
- Typical 4 or 5 day work week schedule.
- Overtime is occasional to frequent based on a number of factors.

- May be required to work during production shutdowns or other “off-schedule” periods to conduct special or on-going activities.
