What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parts Manager position at Malin?
Malin's Parts Manager are an integral part of our parts operation. The successful person in this role will be an energetic self-starter with the ability to see when things need to be done and foresee any issues that may arise. You'll work on a great team that processes inquiries and order requests for parts and materials, mostly through email. You'll work with our external customers and technicians to ensure their parts are received as soon as you can get them.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Minimum of 5-7 years working customer service, preferably in parts retail or parts distribution setting
Manage the financial performance of the parts department
Manage inventories located at the branch office, in parts vans and on consignment.
Conduct meetings with parts personnel to coordinate day-to-day activities.
Set and review parts inventory levels. Monitor overstock and understock parts.
Assist with periodic return of overstock items to branch office.
Review and approve vender invoices.
Conduct and participate in parts strategy meetings.
Assist with account strategy.
Participate in product demonstrations.
Maintain direct contact with current and prospective customers at end user locations.
Address customer service issues.
Select, train, develop and counsel direct reports.
Prepare budget for management approval
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Five to seven years’ experience in parts distribution preferred
- Experience with the Company preferred
- Two-year college degree preferred.
- Good computer skills required.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate lift trucks.

Physical Requirements
Climbing, stopping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pound of force occasionally, and / or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as : operating machines where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks of a non-repetitive nature. Subjected to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise, vibration, oils, atmospheric conditions and a variety of physical activities such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current or exposure to chemicals.
