Role Summary:
The Brand Manager role is a dynamic blend of project management, client service, and strategic follow through. In this position, you will serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of retainer clients, as well as for clients engaging the Agency on specific projects. Your responsibilities will range from managing day-to-day communications, reviewing creative work, and taking part in strategy meetings, to providing status updates, overseeing project timelines, and developing detailed creative briefs. This role requires someone who is not only highly organized and communicative but also someone who can think strategically and make informed decisions quickly. You will be the driving force behind ensuring client satisfaction and project success, balancing the fast-paced demands of agency life with the need for accuracy and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, a confident leader, and someone who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of client relationships across various industries, ensuring satisfaction and growth.
- Retain and expand each account through strategic leadership and exceptional client service.
- Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders via email, phone, video calls, and in-person meetings.
- Collaborate with team members to develop comprehensive marketing strategies that help small to midsize businesses achieve their goals while staying within budget.
- Conduct thorough research on assigned clients to become an expert in their business and marketing strategies, ensuring alignment throughout the creative process.
- Develop detailed meeting agendas and lead regular client meetings with a focus on clear communication and strategic direction.
- Oversee the creative process for a range of assets, including copywriting, branding, social media, video, photography, digital content, email, print, and web.
- Create and maintain comprehensive creative briefs for every project, ensuring all elements are documented in the Agency’s project management system.
- Manage social media and email campaigns by developing content calendars, scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and providing clients with regular performance reports.
- Leverage your expertise to offer timely, relevant, and strategic marketing advice to executive-level clients.
- Prepare extensive documentation, including meeting agendas, status reports, production schedules, tracking documents, and next steps for clients.
- Support the agency’s Producer in pre-production planning, ensuring all aspects are covered for successful execution.
- Collaborate closely with the agency’s Editor and Creative Director during post-production to ensure excellence in the final delivery.
- Actively pursue new business opportunities, playing a key role in helping the agency meet its financial targets each fiscal year.
- Regularly collaborate with other departments, providing direction and feedback on all client-facing projects to ensure consistency and quality.
- Delegate tasks to team members as needed, offering clear guidance and setting precise expectations for each project.
- Stay current on the latest marketing trends and tactics through ongoing research and learning.
- Participate in the interview process for new staff members across departments and occasionally manage part-time interns.
- Become proficient in the StoryBrand® framework and implement it across all client projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the agency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, Communications, PR, etc.
- At least 3 years of experience in a creative marketing environment or agency
- Prior client services, project management, and production experience
- Takes initiative and adds value beyond the scope of their role
- Advanced understanding of the current marketing landscape
- Confidence to lead clients towards business growth through creative marketing
- Extreme attention to detail, and competency for creating beautiful work
- High emotional intelligence, committed to extending empathy and grace to others
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience with the following: Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Keynote, Later (or other scheduling platforms), Asana (or other project management software), Milanote, Slack, Google Workspace, and Excel
