Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of our facility, ensuring accurate inventory tracking, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. This role is crucial in supporting our operations and ensuring timely delivery of products to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Receive incoming shipments, inspect for damage, and verify contents against purchase orders.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely and labeling them accurately.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including inventory counts.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move products as needed.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient processing of orders.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to maintain stock accuracy.
- Assist in the organization and cleanliness of the shipping and receiving area.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and basic computer applications.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment (certification preferred).
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy items and stand for extended periods.
- Problem-solving skills to address issues that may arise during shipping or receiving processes.
