What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Support position at Malloy Electric?
The focus of Shop Support is to improve workflow, clean parts, and other duties as assigned to support the shop.
Responsibilities:
- Disassemble, clean, scrape, paint and reassemble electric motors, parts and other industrial equipment.
- Cleans parts of all foreign materials using bead blaster, steam cleaners, power washers, or solvent tank to prepare for repairs.
- Understand shop flow and ability to track labor time and materials accurately.
- Inspect various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment for damage and evidence of malfunctions.
- Learn from mechanics and service technicians to grow knowledge of electrical and mechanical repairs.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes to safely move equipment and materials.
- Keep work area neat and clean.
- Coordinates component flow within the shop.
- All other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift and push 50 pounds.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work safely in a shop environment.
- Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
