What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finishing Department Production Lead position at Malnove Packaging?
The Job
You will be responsible for managing department production and output standards, promotion and development of a team working environment to achieve engagement and retention of highly-skilled Associates, facilitation of Associate training to ensure satisfactory job skills and growth, and proactive mitigation of risk through ensuring compliance with and enforcement of all applicable policies and procedures.
The Successful Candidate will:
- Ensure that production schedules and quality requirements are achieved safely and efficiently and to the satisfaction of customers. ·
- Ensuring that machines operate effectively and efficiently. ·
- Assist the manager in the supervision of all preventative maintenance activities throughout the department. ·
- Actively supervise all waste disposal and waste reporting activities by all finishing department associates throughout the shift. ·
- Comply with and enforce company policies and procedures regarding safety, food safety, OSHA, personnel issues etc., and coach and train associates to provide a safe, secure working environment that meets the company’s goals and achieves customer satisfaction. ·
- Serve as acting department supervisor when the manager is away from the plant, including attending factory order meetings, new business meetings, and house order meetings; and completing UKG timecards.
- Participate in various committees and programs to ensure the safety of associates and the quality of customer orders.
This is a 3rd Shift position (11pm - 7am)
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in manufacturing, preferrable packaging
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Compensation:
- $25.00-$35.00 plus shift differential.
- The listed range represents expected hourly range for this position. The actual hourly rate may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and time in the roll.
