What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian position at Malouf Companies?
Overview
Malouf Companies seeks a motivated, focused custodian to join our building maintenance team. Our ideal candidate will have experience using basic cleaning supplies to maintain a clean work environment and both take direction on company cleaning procedures and handle the details of the work on their own initiative.
This is a full-time, benefitted role. Schedule is Mon-Fri 7:00 am – 3:30 pm but is subject to change depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Have basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and tools used to clean the company’s office spaces
- Maintain clean and sanitary restrooms and facilities
- Follow health and safety guidelines while cleaning
- Clean office spaces, bathrooms, stairwells, break rooms, restrooms, and other spaces in a timely manner
- Utilize multiple cleaning methods, including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows
- Empty trash and recycling bins in office, break room, restroom, and other areas
- Restock restrooms and break rooms with supplies
Qualifications
- Experience performing commercial cleaning services is preferred but not required
- Ability to perform general cleaning duties such as mopping, dusting, vacuuming, etc.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to understand and follow verbal, written, or demonstrated instruction
- Ability to continuously walk, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Self-motivated with high attention to detail
- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
- Comfortable working both independently and in a team environment
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.
