JOB SUMMARY
The Preventative Maintenance Supervisor, under the guidance of the Facilities Engineer, will lead and supervise the maintenance and janitorial staff to ensure optimal performance, cleanliness, and reliability of both facilities and production equipment. This position is approximately 50% hands-on and 50% administrative, requiring the supervisor to balance direct involvement in maintenance activities with managing records, schedules, and team coordination. This role is critical in maintaining the high standards of the Company by minimizing equipment downtime, ensuring all machinery functions efficiently, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop, implement, and oversee the preventive maintenance program focused on extending the life and reliability of production equipment and reducing unexpected downtime.
2. Lead the maintenance team in the daily execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities for both facilities and equipment, including production lines, ovens, mixers, coolers, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
3. Identify, catalog, and keep track of all facility equipment.
4. Collaborate with the Facilities Engineer to plan, schedule, and prioritize machine repairs, part replacements, and other maintenance activities during off-peak production hours, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
5. Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed to complete projects and tasks.
6. Regularly inspect and monitor equipment performance to identify potential issues before they result in equipment failure, and take corrective action as needed.
7. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including logic controllers, to maintain operational efficiency.
8. Assist in the sanitation processes, including equipment cleaning, facility sanitation, waste management, and training production staff on equipment sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
9. Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and food safety standards, prioritizing safety and compliance throughout the facilities.
10. Maintain detailed records of preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
11. Develop and maintain organization to the maintenance shop so that parts and supplies can be located and inventoried quickly and efficiently.
12. Ensure an adequate inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies, and coordinate with vendors for the procurement of necessary materials.
13. Provide training and guidance to the maintenance and janitorial staff on standard operating procedures, best practices, safety procedures, and compliance.
14. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance situations to ensure quick resolution and prevent production downtime.
15. Report on any unsafe conditions to the Safety Manager
16. Provide suggestions to improve processes, procedures, and department in support of company goals.
17. Maintain a positive and constructive work environment within the department as well as with other departments and promote teamwork.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A. High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field or engineering preferred.
B. Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance and sanitation in a food manufacturing setting, ideally within a tortilla or bakery environment.
C. Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience managing a maintenance team.
D. Expertise in food production equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and sanitation practices.
E. Working knowledge of OSHA, GMP, and food safety regulations (e.g., SQF) in a food manufacturing environment.
F. Experience with CMMS for managing maintenance schedules, tasks, and documentation.
G. Certification in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems is a plus.
H. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with staff and vendors.
I. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, overtime, holidays, and on-call shifts, as required. Must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays on a rotating schedule.
J. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
