Daycare Assistant Teacher

Position Hours: 25-30 hours per week

The ideal candidate will have experience in childhood development, daycare, caregiving, and /or childcare. If you are enthusiastic about educating and caring for children, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Teacher in planning and implementing educational and developmental activities appropriate for infants and toddlers.
• Ensure children's safety and well-being at all times, providing vigilant supervision indoors and outdoors.
• Prepare nutritious lunches independently or with Lucy, ensuring meals are appropriate for infants and toddlers.
• Aid infants and toddlers with meals, snacks, feeding, toileting, diapering, naps, personal care, and comfort.
• Encourage and facilitate positive behaviors, social interactions, and developmental play among infants and toddlers.
• Responsible and maintain a consistently clean, sanitary, safe, and organized daycare environment, specifically in infant and toddler areas.
• Participate actively in training sessions specific to infant and toddler care and Maryland childcare regulations.
• Support compliance with Maryland childcare regulations, including implementing emergency procedures and conducting monthly fire drills.
• Respect and maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and sensitivity when communicating with families and colleagues.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years experience in childcare, preferably with infants and toddlers.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Patience, flexibility, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Bilingual skills preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation and authorization to work in the U.S.
• Completion of mandatory training within 60 days of employment
• 90 clock hours or equivalent in approved early childhood coursework.
