Description
Responsible for the day to day operations of record keeping practices in support of the legal medical record components either as an electronic image or hard copy paper image. This position requires an extreme amount of attention to detail and the ability to identify and research issues in order to ensure accuracy of patient records.
What You'll Do:
- Chart processing for the retrieval, prepping, scanning, and indexing of records.
- Ability to maintain productivity standards for prepping/scanning at a 95% accuracy level.
- Chart analysis and delinquency tracking in the Electronic Health Record system.
- Locate, retrieve and copy medical records from archived files (electronic or paper) in a timely manner upon requests from physicians, SMHD staff, patients, etc.
- Processes name/medical record changes, record merges, and notifies appropriate parties.
- Maintain conformance with HIPAA and Title 22 regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Post high school coursework in business/clerical or HIMS classes preferred.
- Basic computer skills required. Previous experience with Outlook systems preferred.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Job Information:
- Full-time, day shifts
- Starting wage $20.59 to $24.96 based on qualifications.
