Description
The Payment Processing Representative position is responsible for the timely and accurate posting of patient account payments and adjustments. Sorts and distributes incoming mail for patient financial services and works closely with payment processing analyst to ensure timely and accurate posting to patient accounts. The Payment Processing Representative performs various daily functions in support of the revenue cycle and interacts with all departments in the revenue cycle.
What You’ll Do:
- Reconciles all patient payments from hospital, ancillary departments, and clinics (OTC).
- Reconciles financial information in patients’ accounts.
- Provides support, investigation, and troubleshoots questions pertaining to the patient financial record.
- Calculates and verifies correct adjustments and posts to correct patient account.
- Post patient payments to the correct accounts from mail and fax.
- Open, sort, and scan all incoming mail
- Posts self-pay credit cards from patients in Revenue Cycle to correct patient account, verifying and applying discounts.
- Brings cash deposits to bank on a weekly basis

What You’ll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalency is required
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products
- Minimum one year office experience in a medical environment is preferred
- Light bookkeeping knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
Job Information:
- Full-time, day shifts
- Starting wage $20.44 to $24.77 based on qualifications.
