What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spiritual Care Coordinator position at Mammoth Hospital?
The Spiritual Care Coordinator works with the healthcare team to provide emotional, spiritual, and limited social support to patients and their families for a quality patient experience across the healthcare system. Facilitates communication between the patient and the healthcare team, i.e. notifies nursing of pertinent information, but does not provide medical advice. This position provides direction for routine aspects of non-medical problems of patients and their families.
What You'll Do:
- Leads the Spiritual Care team and Spiritual Care volunteers; Serves as the lead Spiritual Care Provider and coordinates coverage during business hours.
- Provides emotional and spiritual support to patients, families, and staff, as needed and/or requested.
- Assists families in crisis situations. Provides emotional support to families in the event of a death in the hospital. Supports staff after traumatic events as part of the Code Lavender debrief team.
- Works with patients and families for end-of-life transition.
- Participates in Interdisciplinary Team Rounding, Palliative Care meetings, Care Coordination bi-weekly meetings and End of Life Option Act as needed.
- Collaborates with Hospital Social Worker to facilitate patient access to social services.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Spiritual Care, Human Services, or a related field or equivalent experience required.
- Three years' experience in Spiritual Care preferred.
- Spiritual care, Social work, social services, or healthcare background.
- Pastoral Crisis Intervention Certification (13 contact hours) preferred.
- Grief Counseling - 25 continuing education hours through Spiritual Care Association for Hospital Chaplains or equivalent preferred.
- Spiritual Care training required within 6 months.
Job Information:
- Per diem position, varied day shifts.
- Starting wage $29.60 to $35.88 based on qualifications.
