A Little About This Position
- Mammoth Mountain Ski Patrollers must be able to provide first aid in both clinical settings and on-slope environments. They must understand and implement mountain safety practices and be able to perform avalanche mitigation techniques based on their experience and skill level. Patrollers must possess the ability to work as part of a team, follow directions, and demonstrate rational decision-making and conservative risk management practices.
- Applicants must demonstrate advanced to expert level alpine skiing ability prior to being considered for employment.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age to be eligible for employment with MMSP.
- Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
- All hired applicants must complete the Ski Patroller Training course. Continued employment with MMSP is contingent upon successful completion of the training course.
- Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States. Unfortunately, we cannot accept H2B or J1 applicants for this position. Non-US citizens interested in the position must have previous professional patrol experience and strong references to be considered for employment.
- Applicants must possess one of the following first aid certifications to be eligible for employment: Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, Outdoor Emergency Care, or Wilderness First Responder (must meet minimum standards of the WMEC). Additionally, applicants must have a current CPR/AED certification for the Professional Rescuer certification.
- Offers of employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation and all hired applicants will go through the Ski Patroller Training course. Ski Patroller Employment will be contingent on passing this training.
- We will only consider non-US citizen applicants for this position who have previous professional Patrol experience and have strong references.
