Under the direction of site and district administration, the Mental Health & Wellness Services Specialist at Mammoth Elementary School plays a critical role in supporting the academic, physical, social, and emotional well-being of students. The Specialist serves as a liaison between students, families, school staff, and the community, addressing barriers that hinder educational progress. This position works directly with students who face challenges in educational achievement due to social, emotional, behavioral, adjustment, or attendance issues.
A key responsibility of the Specialist is to provide direct clinical services to students and their families, offering both counseling and case management to address their needs. The Specialist also collaborates with school staff to plan and implement wellness and prevention programs, ensuring equitable access to mental health and wellness resources for all students. Additionally, the Specialist leads school-wide prevention and education efforts while coordinating mental health services and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA and FERPA.
The Specialist assists with the Medi-Cal and insurance billing certification process and ensures that all student support programs align with desired outcomes for student success. This position is grant-funded.
• Master's Degree in Psychology or Social Work from an accredited graduate school required.
One of the following is required:
• Licensed as a Clinical Psychologist or
• Credentialed School Psychologist or
• Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker or
• Licensed as a Marriage, Family Child Counselor or
• Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist issued by a licensing agency within the Department of Consumer Affairs
Education:
• Master's Degree in Psychology or Social Work from an accredited graduate school required.
Salary : $82,453 - $133,059
