Job Title: Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Technician II

The HSE Technician II will support the Health, Safety, and Environmental team with a focus on occupational health and safety in a general industry setting. This role involves promoting and implementing HSE programs, policies, and procedures to prevent workplace incidents and injuries. The position requires collaboration with various departments to ensure compliance with safety regulations and continuous improvement in safety practices.

Shift
- Mon-Fri: 7:30 PM - 5:00 AM (9/8/80B) with every other Friday off (10% Shift Differential)
- Fri-Mon: 7:00 PM - 5:30 AM (4x10) (18% Shift Differential)
The HSE Technician II will support the Health, Safety, and Environmental team with a focus on occupational health and safety in a general industry setting. Primary Responsibilities
- Comply with company policies and Quality System guidelines.
- Implement and monitor health & safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Analyze safety incident and injury data, report findings to stakeholders.
- Assist with environmental monitoring and compliance.
- Conduct job safety analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Deliver safety training, including orientations and specific safety topics.
- Inspect and maintain safety equipment.
- Support Safety Committee activities and Building Emergency Response Teams (BERT).
- Maintain chemical inventory lists and Safety Data Sheets.
- Conduct incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and recommend corrective measures.
- Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement (CI) team on safety initiatives.
- Perform safety and environmental inspections and incident investigations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering, industrial hygiene, science, or related field, OR 3 years of relevant experience in occupational safety.
- Practical experience with OSHA HSE duties in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in training preparation and presentation to various audiences.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations, standard safety procedures, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer applications.
- Valid Utah State driver’s license for local travel between Salt Lake City facilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively convey safety concepts and policies.
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong analytical and reasoning skills for data collection and interpretation.
- Dependability in meeting reporting deadlines and follow-up on assignments.
- Advanced understanding of OSHA regulations and behavioral-based safety programs is a plus.
- Ability to remain stationary for prolonged periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 lbs., climbing stairs/ladders, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly for extended periods.
- Must pass a respirator fit test and be able to gown for clean room environments.
