Responsibilities
The Lab Technician role is responsible for assignments related to the day to day performance of the material testing laboratory (including mortar testing) in a manner that results in high quality products according to established standard tests required for research, development, quality control and/or technical service. Essential Functions of the job: Prepares/processes materials samples including: Active involvement in standard and exploratory experiment design, Routine laboratory activity to make or prep materials and test samples, Development work with non-routine R&D assignments such as design of fixtures for experimental set-up and establishing proper data acquisition Collects and reports scientific & engineering data obtained from laboratory equipment through an effective plan/coordination and maintains laboratory notebook Maintain laboratories and equipment including set-up, operation and trouble shooting of experimental equipment or instruments
