Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in Reno, NV. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial and industrial electricity/maintenance, with the ability to troubleshoot and maintain a variety of production machinery and equipment. This position requires hands-on experience with electrical/mechanical blueprints, CMMS, SAP, and a range of tools and systems used in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on industrial and commercial electrical systems.
- Read and interpret electrical/mechanical blueprints and schematics.
- Utilize CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) & SAP for maintenance activities.
- Operate and maintain sit-down and stand-up forklifts.
- Troubleshoot and correct issues with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) systems.
- Interface with vendors to troubleshoot, set up, and acquire parts for machinery.
- Maintain and repair production machinery and equipment, including clutch/brake systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, compressed gas systems, water systems, and cooling systems.
- Ensure compliance with NEC (National Electrical Code) and all relevant safety standards.
- Complete required training and orientation on 1st shift (4-6 months).
- Provide comprehensive reporting and documentation of maintenance activities.
- High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution with 3 years of experience in commercial and industrial electricity/maintenance OR:
- Technical school diploma OR:
- Associate’s degree in electronics or commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience reading electrical/mechanical blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) & SAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Experience operating a sit-down and stand-up forklift.
- Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Reno, NV will be considered (Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation).
- 2 years of PLC troubleshooting or programming experience.
- Five (5) years’ experience in the electrical field, in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens Software to troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and Drives.
- Journeyman Electrician Certification.
- Previous mechanical power press experience.
- Previous roll forming and sheet metal fabrication experience.
- Previous gas Metal Arch Welding (GMAW) experience.
- Ability to start on 1st shift for training purposes (orientation, onboarding training for 4-6 months).
- Ability to troubleshoot, setup, and acquire parts for various types of machinery.
- Experience with NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Flexibility in working hours and travel, including overnight travel if required.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including exposure to hot, cold, and noisy environments.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
