Warehouse Worker/Production Packer
Location: Jackson, MI 49203
Position Overview:The Production Packer is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and housekeeping while packing finished vinyl siding and accessory products. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment. The role involves assisting in production line setup, inspecting products, and preparing items for shipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure safety, quality, and housekeeping for assigned areas.
- Assist with line setup, including stringing the production line.
- Cut, assemble, and glue packing boxes.
- Visually inspect siding panels for defects and report issues to the operator or Area Lead.
- Monitor and restock hot glue levels as needed.
- Label and number packing boxes.
- Load boxes onto skids and strap them for removal to the warehouse.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
- Train new packers as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Lift and move heavy objects (up to 60 lbs) without assistance.
- Stand, walk, and engage in repetitive motions for prolonged periods.
- Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
- Able to work 8 12 hour shifts in a noisy, dusty environment with exposure to heat and chemical odors.
- Must follow all safety requirements, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding role, including lifting and moving heavy objects.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product defects.
- Must be able to work in a noisy, dusty environment with exposure to heat.
Salary : $14 - $17
