Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for analyzing client needs, designing, developing, implementing, and updating content, with a focus on innovative ideas and a focus on exceptional learning experiences.
While this position is remote, applicants MUST LIVE WITHIN DRIVING DISTANCE OF Brunswick, GA, Washington D.C., Fort Benning GA, or Charleston, SC
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be able to pass a federal background check (Public Trust).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Use professional knowledge of principles, techniques and practices of instructional system design, adult learning theory, training research methodology, statistics, and technology to develop, review, and revise instructional material
Design and develop content and learning experiences for a variety of audiences and delivery methods including instructor-led and digital delivery.
Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), collaborating to develop state-of-the-art training materials.
Be a learning advisor to both internal and external customers.
Work on multiple projects simultaneously (strong skills in multi-tasking).
Work collaboratively with internal customers including project managers, SMEs, and training professionals.
Share information about new learning approaches and changes in the industry.
Implement Section 508 and SCORM requirements and ensure eLearning and Instructor-led instructional materials meet 508 compliance standards and all other DHS education and training requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be well-versed in the ADDIE model of instructional design and able to articulate examples of practical application for each step.
Must possess an intermediate to expert level of experience using Articulate 360 (both Rise and Storyline)
Experience using Microsoft Teams and SharePoint as the primary source of file saving and sharing.
Strong technical and creative writing skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Creative problem-solving skills.
Organizational and planning skills.
Ability to work independently or with little direction and meet deadlines.
Experience with Kirkpatrick Evaluations, Levels 1 – 3 including creating, administering, monitoring, updating, and reporting.
Education & Experience
Must have at least 24 hours/college credits in learning theory, psychology of learning, educational psychology, instructional design practices, educational evaluation, instructional product development, and technology education in training from an accredited institution.
Must have 5 years’ experience as an Instructional Designer.
