Management and Network Services (MNS) is seeking an Intake Specialist to join our team. Position Summary: As part of the Clinical Services team, this position will perform Clinical Services duties as assigned by the Clinical Services Team Leader or designee. Telephone communication skills are essential due to extensive interaction with insurance company member service and patient management personnel, hospital discharge planners, and facility personnel. Associate must be competent in data entry using computer software for maintenance of case records.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Obtain member benefits for requested services
- Accurate data entry of patient encounters into CasePointe system
- Must comply with all departmental policies and procedures
- Work in conjunction with hospital discharge planners, insurance company and network facility personnel, MNS Clinical Services staff and assigned team members
- Demonstrate excellent phone skills and the ability to screen customer needs and redirect calls as needed.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service attitude
- Assist co-workers in completion of critical tasks during times of peak caseloads/cross training and ability to cover in different teams where necessary
- Participates as a team member within Clinical Services and with all MNS departments
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of electronic Clinical Services files
- Assist in electronic distribution of Clinical Services faxes
- Assist in maintenance of Clinical Services equipment such as fax and copy machines
- Work on special projects as needed
- Protect and safeguard all patient, facility and insurance information confidentiality
- Must attend work regularly, as scheduled
- Knowledge base of initiating pre-certs online for some Payors, working with OON placements and different data base systems
- Performs any other reasonable duties as required
What we are looking for:
- Must possess at minimum a high school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2-years office experience preferred
- Medical office experience preferred
- Ability to prioritize workload
- Ability to handle multiple phone lines.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Working knowledge of telephone etiquette
- Able to follow written and oral instructions
- Able to type proficiently and effective use of a ten-key calculator
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent customer service
