CNC Machinist Job Title:
We have two openings for CNC Machinists to work in the 1st and 2nd shifts (see Note 1).
The position is located in Summit, NJ.
Compensation:
The pay rate range is $30-$41 per hour, with overtime at 1.5 times the regular rate and a $5 hourly differential for 2nd shift work.

About the Company:
This is a privately owned company with a long history of growth and stability. Many employees have been with the company for 40 years, and the company operates a Machine Shop in the plant.
The company specializes in producing precision flow control components, such as solenoid valves, pressure vessels, and regulators, using high-precision machining techniques in a union shop environment. These components are critical to mission-critical applications in the aerospace and aviation industries.
Note 1: One position is available for the 1st shift (6am-2:30pm), and the other for the 2nd shift (2:00pm-10:30pm).
Note 2: In addition to the CNC Machinists, the client also needs two manual machine operators for non-CNC machines.
Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, the CNC Machinist will set up and perform complex machining, fitting, and assembly operations from blueprints, sketches, written or verbal instructions. They must determine the proper tooling and sequence of operations and skillfully use all machinist's hand tools and machine shop measuring equipment to produce work that meets specifications.
Essential Functions:
- Makes complicated set-ups and operates available machine tools.
- Determines operational sequences, proper jigs, fixtures, and design of tools to be used.
- Skilled use of all machinist's hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Familiarity with the machining of most materials.
- Advanced shop math, including trigonometry.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or completion of an apprenticeship program or four years of on-the-job training.
- Five or more years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
