Job Summary : Lead approximately 5 manufacturing engineers which are in support of new product introduction, and production valve assembly and test efforts. This is a working Manager position; the Lead is expected to serve as a high performing manufacturing engineer. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSFor NPI programs, with input from design and test engineers, determine all needed assembly and test fixtures (create fixture list)Design, draw, have manufactured, inspect, and validate manufacturing, assembly, and test fixturesFor NPI programs, coordinate with planner / buyer, design & test engineers on fixture jobs / PO’s, priority, and scheduleDevelop new and improve existing manufacturing, assembly, and test processes and cellsCreate new and revise existing routers, driven by ECO’s, process improvements, etc.Update jobs based on NCMR’s, ECO’s / EO’s, redlines, etc.Create jobs to make fixtures or development partsReview and approve ECO’s for new and changes to existing drawings, documents, etc.Review, provide feedback, and offer alternatives regarding NPI drawings for correctness, manufacturability, standardization, best practices, and lessons learnedBuild development and LRIP assemblies Create new and revise existing assembly procedures, work instructions, part protection procedures, standards, etc.Determine and implement part protection and handling processes to reduce damage and rework Provide all needed support for final packaging, E.G., process, materials, documentation, etc.Prepare ECO’s for new and changes to fixture drawings, weld simulation drawings, standards, etc.Lead or support the identification and removal of waste from manufacturing, assembly, and test processesLead or support structured problem solving / root cause corrective actions to address systemic quality problemsManage / mentor manufacturing engineersAssist / train / review and approve manufacturing engineers’ fixture lists, fixture designs, routers, assembly procedures, etc.Lead or support capital expense efforts Candidate Must Have : BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or the technical equivalent5 Years of manufacturing engineering experience in the aerospace, aviation or defense industries Experience with fixture designUnderstanding of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing toolsProficient in the use of CAD design software - SolidWorksSolid project management, communication, and cross functional team leadership skillsExperience leading others preferred Ability to perform in a fast paced, medium sized companyCandidate Nice to have : Lean Six Sigma certification for Yellow / Green / Black BeltKeywords : Six Sigma, Lean, Yellow / Green / Black belt, Mechanical, Industrial, Fixture, CAD, SolidWorks
