Laundry Worker

Pay: $17.85 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, Monday - Friday

Work with a purpose! Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Bluebonnet Detention Facility in Anson, TX. We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping non-citizens gain valuable skills and treatment necessary for success upon release.

What you'll do: You'll be responsible for proper use and maintenance of laundry equipment and maintaining records of laundry operations in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives.

Essential Functions:

• Operate laundry equipment. Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Perform tests on wash formulas.
• Provide the receipt, storage, repair and issue of detainee necessities, and implement inventory control procedures.
• Maintain related records and preparation for related reports.
• Direct the work of detainees assigned to assist in the laundry.
• Requires long periods of walking and standing
• Requires the pushing and pulling of laundry carts and lifting of laundry bags full of laundry which could weigh up to 30 lbs.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of experience in institutional laundry operations, including experience in the following areas: receiving, inventory and shipping of supplies required.
• Must successfully complete required pre-service training.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
