Essential Duties:
- Administrative supervision of staff in the mental health department in accordance with DRC policy and protocols.
- Develop and implement treatment and therapeutic programs for assigned patients.
- Assume independent clinical responsibility for all patients including the application of crisis intervention techniques to include suicide prevention, recognizing abnormal behavior, and taking appropriate action to prevent or diffuse potentially disruptive situations.
- Conduct diagnosis and evaluation tests for patients to determine needs, establish goals and develop plans; make referrals to contract professionals for assessment and treatment of patients
- Provide direct casework services and individual and group counseling to patients.
- Prepare progress reports; provide recommendations regarding treatment plans; make case presentations; and assist administrative and medical staff in development of statistical reports on assigned patients.
- Maintain and monitor confidentiality of patients and their files; audit files to determine that all services provided are documented; review status of patients to determine that all treatment and therapeutic programs are completed.
- Screen requests for non-medical records and appropriately approve or disapprove responses following policy and procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Current license in the State of Ohio as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Independent Social Worker.
- Five (5) years of clinical experience and a minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience preferred.
- The approval of supervising staff who are pursuing licensure is preferred (such as the LISW-S designation).
- Computer skills, evaluative, counseling skills, and current CPR certification are also required for this position.
- A valid driver’s license in the state of Ohio with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
- The selected candidate must be approved for hire by ODRC and must maintain appropriate facility security clearance.
- Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements.
