Environmental Services Floor Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Floor Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of various flooring types in commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of floor care techniques, including buffing, carpet cleaning, and custodial services. The Floor Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all building occupants.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of floors, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming.
• Execute specialized floor care tasks such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain optimal appearance.
• Conduct carpet cleaning using appropriate methods and equipment to ensure carpets are clean and well-maintained.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment; report any needs or issues to management.
• Adhere to safety protocols and environmental standards while performing cleaning duties.
• Respond promptly to spills or accidents to prevent hazards in the workplace.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure all areas are cleaned efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain equipment in good working condition; perform minor repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services is preferred.
• Familiarity with floor care techniques, including buffing and carpet cleaning.
• Knowledge of environmental services best practices is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks associated with floor maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
