Position Overview:
- Salem Metal Company is currently seeking a skilled Die Setter to join our team. The Die Setter will be responsible for operating various types of presses and setting up dies used in production. As a Die Setter, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient functioning of our machines and maintaining high-quality production output.
- Operate various types of presses and machinery according to company guidelines and safety protocols.
- Set up dies in machines to meet production requirements and ensure proper alignment.
- Perform Die Setter functions, including installing, adjusting, and securing dies in the machines.
- Inspect and troubleshoot the dies and machines for any defects or issues, and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools to ensure their proper functioning.
- Monitor production processes to ensure the accurate and efficient execution of tasks.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to create a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of production data, equipment maintenance, and die setup information.
- Previous experience as a Die Setter or in a similar manufacturing role is needed.
- Proficiency in operating various types of presses and setting up dies is essential.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with precision.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production demands and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work on the 1st shift and occasionally work overtime if required.
