Job Description:
Custodians play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our school facilities. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for ensuring that all areas of the building are clean and free from hazards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform carpentry and painting tasks to maintain the appearance of the building
- Maintain campus grounds by mowing lawn and trimming grass, shrubbery, and trees
- Clean building interior and exterior, including bathrooms, classrooms, hallways, dining areas, and other spaces
- Assist teachers with moving furniture or equipment, lifting boxes, or hanging classroom materials
- Perform minor repair work such as replacing ceiling tile, light bulbs, bathroom sinks, and unclogging commodes, sinks, or drains
- Requisition and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment
Requirements:
- Minimum of one year of experience in custodial activities preferred
- Demonstrate ability to perform duties under general supervision requiring some initiative
- Work cooperatively with principal and teachers
- Perceive pertinent detail in verbal or tabular material
- Move hands easily and skillfully
- Comprehend forms in space and understand relationships of plane and solid objects
