Position Overview
This position is a 12-month, full-time non-tenure-track faculty position with an appointment in Manchester University's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. This individual is responsible for assisting the Program Director and faculty in developing the program, including didactic education coursework, program assessment plans, and other program projects as required. The program is seeking candidates with expertise in the following areas : Neurological, Acute-Care / Cardiopulmonary / Complex Patient Care, and Orthopedics / General Practice. Candidates with expertise in multiple areas, including leadership and administration, are encouraged to apply.
Essential Job Functions
Teaching 60% (approximately 18-load hours)
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of individual didactic and courses, as assigned.
- Provide quality instruction in didactic and / or clinical courses inside and outside the classroom.
- Execute roles of 'course coordinator' and 'lead instructor' as assigned.
- Utilize student assessments to improve teaching, coursework, and curriculum.
- Identify and develop creative, challenging, and evidence-based learning opportunities for students.
- Demonstrate expertise in student assessment and evaluation.
- Collaborate with other members of the faculty to develop / refine the curriculum, teaching, and evaluation methods needed for effective delivery of the curriculum, including creating, developing, and evaluating innovative teaching methods that prepare students for contemporary practice.
- Be an exemplary professional role model for DPT and other Manchester students and faculty colleagues.
- Assess student learning in all classes and implement changes to demonstrate continuous improvement.
- Meet assigned classes, beginning and ending class sessions as scheduled.
- Maintain compliance with the academic calendar, and with policies and procedures in the Faculty Manual.
