What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paraeducator - Communication Facilitator position at Manchester Elementary Middle School?
Manchester Elementary Middle School seeks a Paraeducator - Communication Facilitator for the 2025/2026 school year! The Paraeducator - Communication Facilitator is assigned to provide onsite interpreting services for students who are deaf in the classroom, school, or school-sponsored activities as per the student’s plan. In this position, the Paraeducator’s primary function is to facilitate communication between the deaf student, their hearing peers, the classroom teacher, and other educational staff. Other job requirements may include tutoring (with supervision), pre-teaching signs and concepts related to unit vocabulary, and test reading. As a related service provider, the Paraeducator - Communications Facilitator is expected to participate in meetings with the student’s IEP team.
Paraeducators work under the day-to-day direction of the staff member(s) supported including the classroom teacher, special education teacher, SLP, OT, PT, and under the direct supervision of the Principal. Teachers and/or special education personnel provide specific directions and oversight for supervision and/or instructional support.
