**Job Description:**
Manning a skilled nursing facility like Manchester Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is a challenging yet rewarding endeavor. As an Infection Prevention Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the health of our residents and staff.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Detect, record, and monitor nosocomial infections/communicable diseases and report them to the Director of Nursing Services.
- Manage outbreaks of disease within the facility and ensure appropriate communication with outside agencies.
- Serve as a resource person for all facility staff regarding personnel educational needs and awareness of the importance of infection control.
- Provide staff education and assure staff competencies as it relates to infection control policies and procedure.
**Requirements:**
- Current and valid RN license.
- Must have Infection Prevention Certificate or in process.
- Certification in Wound Care preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in long-term care or geriatrics.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
